Knox Video Technologies - Routers 
Knox line of routing switchers range from a single 8 by 8 model to an array of cost-effective, user-friendly audio and video routing and distribution systems that range in size from 4x1 to 1024x512. They cater for a variety of video signal types including NTSC, PAL, Y/C, RGB and YUV Component, analogue HDTV, RGBHV, VGA, and SDI, as well as digital audio and multi-level analogue balanced and unbalanced audio at levels up to +24dB.

Knox Video Technologies - Routers - Media Flex Series


The MediaFlex Series offers two different options, the MediaFlex 16 & 8, corresponding to the amount of sources required. The MediaFlex16 series accepts up to sixteen composite, Y/C, Hi-Def analogue component or analogue HDTV video sources, sixteen stereo audio sources, and connects any one of the input sources to one or more of the sixteen zones with volume and tone control. An independent 8x8 VGA matrix (DB15HD) is available in the same chassis to route high-resolution sources such as graphics generators or laptop pc's to data monitors and LCD projectors without loss of resolution.

Knox Video Technologies - Routers - RS Series


The RS Series offers a range of high performance audio/video routing switchers handling up to 16*16 audio and video signals. They accept and route almost any 1 volt Composite, Y/C, or Component video input including off-the-air and non-time base corrected signals. Audio can be mono or stereo unbalanced audio up to 2 volts p-p or balanced stereo audio from 0 to +18 dbm. Video and audio inputs can also be routed independently.
The RS Series offer easy manual operation by front panel key pad, or can be sent routing commands from a terminal or computer through the RS232 interface.

ProSwitch Series vertical interval routing switchers are high-performance audio/video units in thin profile 3RU rack mount chassis. They are configured for 16, 12, 8, or 4 sources to either 1 or 2 destinations. ProSwitch routers are active switchers that accept and route almost any 1 volt NTSC/PAL, RGB, RGBS, RGBHV video source including off-the-air and non-time base corrected signals.
ProSwitch accepts and routes mono or stereo unbalanced audio up to 2 volts p-p. Video and audio sources can be routed independently; they need not have the same destinations.
Easy manual operation from front panel push-buttons or routing commands can be sent from a computer via RS232 interface.
Also available in 5-channel version for RGBHV and VGA routing.

Knox Video Technologies - Routers - HD8


Knox Video's HD-8 routing switcher enables multi-source, multi-zone routing and distribution of audio, video and IR signals.  Any source signal (DVD, DSS, Laser disc, CD, etc.) can be sent to any room or to any combination of rooms simultaneously without any glitch, noise or signal degradation.  Audio can automatically follow the video or audio and video may be routed separately.  Infrared control signals may be routed and distributed through the HD-8 allowing total control of all components from any room in the house.  Rear panel RCA connectors are gold plated and color-coded for easy installation.
This attractive component may be controlled from the user-friendly front panel push-buttons or with the supplied IR remote control.  At a glance, you can see whatever is being watched, or listened to, in any room of the house.   The lighted window on the front panel of the HD-8 displays the rooms of the house and the components routed to them.  The on-screen labels of rooms and components may be custom programmed for any home using the configuration software provided.

Knox Video Technologies - Routers - Chameleon Series


The  Knox Video Chameleon Series modular audio/video (up to 200MHz) routing switchers are expandable up to a full 256*256 matrix's.
These baseband matrix routing switchers route NTSC or PAL video and mono or stereo, balanced or unbalanced audio. Audio can follow video or be routed independently.
Matrix configurations are assembled by inserting cards onto the back plane in the rack frame. Input and output arrays are assembled in multiples of eight. Some common matrix arrays are 24x24 and 32x32.
The Chameleon Series cross point matrixes are controlled by a compact RS232 protocol via computer, an optional remote control keypad, or all three.

Knox Video Technologies - Routers - SDI Series


The SDI8x8 matrix routing switcher accepts and reclocks up to 8 sources to 8 destinations of 8 or 10-bit serial digital video with or without embedded audio.  Housed in the Knox 3U ultra-thin profile chassis, these SDI routers are compatible with various SDI standards including ITU601, SMPTE259M, D1, D2, and D3 at data rates of 143, 177, 270 and 360 Mbps with input equalization in excess of 200 meters. 
SDI routing switchers are controlled from either the front panel pushbuttons or via the RS232 port.  Front panel LEDs confirm valid data locking at all times.  Each valid SDI input signal is indicated by an "Input Carrier Detect" LED.  For each output with a valid input signal, another LED indicates one of four data rates.  Cross point patterns may be stored for later recall.  All current and stored patterns are backed up in non-volatile memory.

Matrix configurations of 12x8 and 8x4 are available with or without balanced stereo audio.  Audio-follows-video or may be routed separately.  Fully buffered, ultra-high bandwidth cross points allow a variety of source signals including NTSC, PAL, Y/C, YUV, VGA, and UXGA to be switched simultaneously without any cross talk.  Featuring wide-range H&V, high-resolution sources such as graphics generators, PC's and workstations may be routed to several downstream devices such as data monitors and LCD projectors without loss of resolution. 
GPR switchers offer several control options including front panel pushbuttons, contact closure, and RS232 serial control.  Communicating via a simple ASCII protocol, controlling Knox routers by most third-party systems is seamless.  Windows software is also available for control from a laptop or computer.  Non-volatile memory enables route patterns to be stored for later recall.  GPR switcher also features auto-switch and auto-search modes that can be toggled on/off from a rear panel jumper.

Knox Video has an array of add-on Routing controllers to complement their range. Some of the products include Infra-red controllers, IP controllers, remote keypads and control software. Knox Video Technologies - Routing Controllers - Desktop Keypads


The Knox Remote Controller is an RS232 terminal device which is designed to control the Knox Video series of audio/video routing switchers from remote locations via three-wire hook-up or modem.
Keypad may be cascaded for multiple site controls; router instructions are passed along from upstream terminals or drivers (such as the Knox Windows driver).
The Desktop Keypad Remote is mounted in a 5" x 7" ABS housing, approximately 1.5 inches high. It has two DB9 connectors, one male for RS232 out (down-stream) to the Knox routing switcher which is to be controlled, and one female for RS232 in from another keypad controller or other RS232 terminal device.

This single rack-space unit features a single row of front panel pushbuttons with LED indicators for quick and easy remote routing. Audio and video can be routed together or independently.
The RS Remote can operate as a general input device to select any or all cross points in a Knox RS or ProSwitch Series routing switcher. The RS Remote can also be field configured from the front panel to designate a specific output for button-per-source switching.
Routing instructions are sent to the switcher via a DB9 connector on the controller's rear panel. A male DB9 connector is provided for looping several RS Remotes.
